Dr. Matthew H. Sweat is a Bachelor of Arts graduate of Auburn University and graduated from Life University (Life U) with his D.C. degree in 1989. Dr. Sweat has co-authored several articles on electroencephalography of the damaged brain and epileptic children before and after upper cervical adjustments. He was introduced to the occipital-atlas-axis complex as a child by his father, Dr. Roy Sweat, who was considered one of the foremost chiropractic authorities in the field. Dr. Matt is chairman for the certification program of the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic Technique. He has lectured in the Atlas Orthogonal Program throughout the United States, Canada and Japan.

Dr. Sweat designed and modified the last two Atlas Orthogonal Percussion Adjusting Instruments. The Atlas Orthogonal Program is taught as an elective at Life U and other chiropractic institutions. Dr. Sweat has been in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia since 1989. He currently resides in Oakwood, Georgia, with his wife Tecla.
